General UoL network issues 08-12-15

The Web site and other network services (email, Web applications, Library) of the University is currently experiencing difficulties due to network issues impacting the JANET educational network. JANET engineers are working to restore and stabilise their service as quickly as possible.

These issues should not impact Web services of third party/ partner providers such as Laureate because these organisations use a different network.

If you are unable to view UoL Library e-resources or Library Web pages as normal during this time, you can try to access e-journal articles using Scholar, you may need to install our VPN client this involves installing the client, then logging into the client using your UoL/MWS login details, then use your normal Web browser to access Scholar at

For e-books you can try to follow a direct link provided in your reading list, or for general searching you can use our VPN client, then search the following suggested e-book providers: – SpringerLink (All Subjects). – Cambridge Books. – Palgrave (All Subjects)
